Note:
Saint John of Shanghai and San-Francisco had a personal devotion to many celtic saints. Because of his exaple celtic saints now appear in the orthodox calendar (John of Kronstadt press).

Dear Friends,
Actually, Celtic missionaries visited St Olha the Great in Kyiv way back when . . .
There were many religious/cultural points of contact between the Christian Celtic Church and East Slavic culture i.e. the sun cult, love of nature (i.e. panENtheism) and the emphasis on the Trinity.
May East Slavic crosses tended to place the solar circle at the centre, as did the Celtic Cross, and this type of Cross adorns the grave of Taras Shevchenko today.
The Scottish Declaration of Ardbroath, observed each April 6, actually states that the Scots are descendants of the "Scyths of Scythia" and that this is why St Andrew is the Scots patron - he was the Apostle of Scythia.
Both Scots and East Slavs commemorate the "X" cross of their common Apostle, St Andrew.
The Scots have the "X" in their national banner and the East Slavs have a form of it in their three bar Cross with the slanted foot-rest.
So there is much we share in common.
