Mor Ephrem:
My own recommendations include:
Byzantine Daily Worship ($60)
by Archbishop Joseph Raya and Baron Jose De Vinck
This book has it all. If Byzanitnes do it, it is in here. The best part is the Septuagint Psalms which can also be had as a seperate book ($23). Both are available from Light and Life publishing.

I know of no abbreviated version of the above. Perhaps Byzantine Book of Prayer ($30) is meant, which uses illustration and translations of the above including the Psalms. This is a pretty good basic book. It does not have all the material BDW does but it is good for a beginner. It is also available from Light and Life.
Also very good are A Prayerbook ($35) and The Psalter ($40) by the Monks of New Skete. The Prayerbook has the full cycle of services and the translation is very good. It also has reforms started by New Skete such as replacing the Canons of Matins with the actual Scripture Canticles. (A good thing in my opinion) They can be ordered by phone at 1-518-677-3928
For those looking for an inexpensive book, A Book for Prayer ($5.50) by the Melkite Eparchy's Educational Services. Just the basics: Morning and Evening prayers, preparation for the Mysteries of Repentance and Communion, but very good. It can be ordered at

Hope this helps.
