The three Trinitarian troparia that follow immediately after the Trisagion Prayers in morning prayers--one usually finds these with the ending "Holy, holy, holy are you, O God; through the Theotokos, have mercy on us." This ending is the same for all three troparia.

However, in the _Malyj Izbornik Cerkovnuj_ edited by Fr Nikolaj Coma (Uzhorod: J. Felde, 1924), the endings, after "Holy, holy, holy are you, O God," are given as follows:

1st Troparion ("Arising from sleep . . . ."):
"through the intercessions of your fleshless ones, have mercy on me" (_zastuplenijem bezplotnych tvoich pomiluj mja_);

2nd Troparion ("From bed and sleep . . . ."):
"through the prayers of all your saints, have mercy on me" (_molitvami vs'ich svjatych tvoich, pomiluj mja_).

3rd Troparion ("Suddenly the Judge shall come . . . .):
"through the prayers of the Theotokos, have mercy on me" (_molitvami Bohorodicy pomiluj mja_).

Can anyone tell me about these differentiated endings? Is this a pre-Nikonian reading formerly current in the Ruthenian area?

Perhaps these are the pre-Nikonian endings to the Troparia after the "Our Father" and before the 12X Lord have Mercy at the beginning of the Midnight Office.

These occur in quite a few Greek Catholic prayerbooks - the old bi-lingual GCU prayerbooks (with the microscopic print) has these, as does several old UGCC prayerbooks as well.

The Nikonian versions of the Horologion/Chasoslov from the Pecherska Lavra render the endings as "through the Theotokos" for these Midnight Office troparia (as can be seen in the Jordanville Horologion). I don't have my Pochaiv or Moscow Chasoslov handy so I can't say about those Nikonian versions.

I suggest checking these texts in an actual Horologion, rather than an informal compendium.

I would certainly check them in an Horologion, if I had access to any that might give other than the Nikonian reading. I am checking with the Old Believers, but I doubt that I can find a Rusyn Slavonic Horologion anywhere in my area.
