Does anyone know of a good book on Church Slavonic. The books I've seen are so dry and hard to use by someone without any previous knowledge of the language. I would like a gentle intro into the language without noun declensions on page 1. Maybe something like The Complete Idiot's Guide to Slavonic or Church Slavonic for Dummies?

Unfortunately the resources available in English to study Church Slavonic are sparse. But they are much better in recent years.

I have put together a tour of those resources on my web site. There is a number of downloadable resources and an annotated bibliography of what is in print.

I hope this helps.
