Friends,
This is meant as a sort of poll but I don't want to do it as such because I think it would be hard to come up with the appropriate categories.
For those BCs in whose parishes you normally have daily Divine Liturgy, what are you having during the Great Fast on weekday mornings?
Thanks in advance for your attention.
I wish you all a beneficial remainder of the Fast.
Tony

Tony Tony, Here out West, at the Van Nuys cathedral, we have been doing the liturgical hours for the weekdays and Presanctified liturgy on Wednesday nights. Steve Petach

Tony,
at the pro-Cathedral of St Stephen in Phoenix, we celebrate lenten matins on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We celebrate the Liturgy of the pre-Sanctified Gifts on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Because of the Feast of the Annunciation last week on the 5th Thursday of Lent, we celebrated matins with the Great Canon of St Andrew of Crete on Tuesday, Vespers with the Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom on Thursday evening, and on Friday evening, we prayed the Akathist to the Theotokos.

Steve Petach Dear Steve, Is that 1st, 3rd, 6th and 9th all aggregated into one daily or are they divided somehow? Thanks! Tony

Tony, prior to this season of the Great Fast, we also celebrated the Lenten Office of Hours on the weekdays of the Great Fast. We actually prayed a different Hour each day. Wednesday and Friday evenings, the LPG was celebrated.

Tony, I don't usually lead the weekday services as I am at work. However, I believe that the order is 1st, 3rd, 6th and 9th seperated, as in 1st hour Monday, 3rd hourTuesday 6th hour Thursday or Friday etc, since there are typically three weekday liturgies scheduled, the pattern rotates. I will find out more tomorrow evening at Presanctified Liturgy. Steve Petach Originally posted by Tony: Originally posted by Steve Petach: [b] Tony,

At St. John Chrysostom Church in Seattle, it's Matins Monday through Friday mornings, Presanctified Wednesday and Friday evenings. Also, Compline after the Tuesday evening inquirer's class.
