Switching "rites" is not all that cumbersome -- it involves a letter to the Bishop, supported by your parish priest. It *can* take time, however, because both the "sending" Bishop (ie, your Latin ordinary) and the "receiving" Bishop (ie, the Byzantine Eparch) have to consent to the transfer, and let's just say that these kinds of requests are somewhat understandably not at the top of the priority pile. :-)
There are some practical issues to consider. Some Byzantine parishes are very good at instructing catechumens, and others are not. If the Byzantine parish you are attending is not really equipped to instruct catechumens effectively, you may be better off remaining in RCIA, which is a structured and organized program in most parishes. The downside of doing that is that, as Dustin has pointed out, your RCIA instruction won't exactly dovetail with your Byzantine liturgical experience. For Byzantine Catholics, it is "one faith" .... but the way that faith is expressed, explained, understood and lived is rather quite different bewteen the contemporary EC church and the contemporary RC church. So, it's something of a quandary. I would recommend speaking with both the Byzantine and the Latin priests involved.
