I met a monk last year who was travelling and visiting various Eastern Catholic parishes. He was part of a new community of Melkite Monks in Pennsylvania that followed the Rule of St. Benedict. I have been trying to locate this group and, short of contacting the Eparchy, have failed to do so.
Does anyone know if they are still in existence? If so, do you know how to contact them?
Any help you can provide would be most appreciated!
God bless!

Dear Ebed,
Perhaps you're thinking about Holy Trinity Monastery between Pittsburgh and Butler Pennsylvania.
They are Benedictine monks, but if I remember correctly they are part of the Byzantine Catholic Church whose head is in Munhall (Pittsburgh).
Also in this arch eparchy are the Benedictine Nuns at Queen of Heaven Monastery in Warren, Ohio.
If you discover the Melkite Benedictine Monastery that you are asking about, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
Peace
Steve

Steve,
Actually, the foundation I am referring to was formed in the Melkite Eparchy of Newton just two years or so ago. Have not seen or heard from them since, so I wonder if they are still around.
If I hear anything, I will keep you posted.
God bless!

I've never heard of them, but I'm by no means an expert. Have you tried calling the Eparchy?
Please do let us know if you find anything!
