Does anyone know of causes for sainthood being promoted for any Eastern Catholic young people?
Am aware of the cause for the Melkite Fathi Baladi, but are there any others?
Ann Ball who has written several books on the lives of the Saints and who prefers to chronicle modern day saints is working on a new book specializing in the causes being advanced for persons 20 years of age and under. While she has pretty much written of Roman Catholic saints, she is hoping not to miss the example being set by exemplary Eastern Catholic youth.

I never heard of Fathi Baladi. Where did you hear or read about her? I have a copy of the Index, the list of all of the people who are candiates for Sainthood, her name is not listed. I collect holy cards as a hoppy. Even the web page "New Saints" doesn't have her listed. I have a holy card of Mathilde Salem. She was an elderly Melkite woman. I guess you would write to Beruit for a picture of her.

Ann Ball says that that list includes not all causes, but only those causes that have been accepted by Rome.

Dear Latin Lurker,
There are a number of young Eastern Saints, venerated as such by the Eastern Catholic Churches, even though they were first glorified by their respective Orthodox Churches.
St Juliana, Princess of Olshansk, died at the age of 16 and her Relics repose in the Kyiv Caves Lavra.
St Moses the Hungarian, a Kyivan Caves Saint, was a young monk who was actually castrated for refusing the advances of a young aristocratic lady. He later became the Patron of chastity for youth throughout Rus'. There is St Gabriel of Slutsk, the Martyr. There is also a child Martyr killed by Herod who is buried in the Kyiv Caves Lavra who is much venerated. There are the young princes STs. Boris and Hlib, Passion-bearers.
There are the princes, Sts. David and Constantine, sons of St Theodore of Smolensk who helped their father Christianize the Mongols. St Basil of Mangazea, a young Siberian slave killed by his master. St James of Borovichi a young Tatar saint. Sts. Leontius and Gerontius, Canonarchs of the Kyivan Caves Lavra.
There are a number of others and all these Saints have been recognized by Rome in response to a petition by Metropolitan Andrew Sheptytsky in 1904.
