What sort of anthropology does Scripture (and Tradition should that too play a role) commit the Christian to? Specifically, does Scripture require dualism, or can man's nature be considered monad? Is the soul understood in a Cartesian sense, where I am distinct from my body, and can exist without it? How open is Christianity to a more integrated materialist interpretation of Biblical anthropology?

Dear Ignoratio
Good place to start but its really heavy going is the new book out "Theology of the Body" by Christopher West.
It is an attempt to simplify in laymens term the profound teaching of John Paul II.
Obtainable from the Daughters of St Paul boook shops that is Paulinne Media at most larger cities.
Ive just skimmed through and one passage in particular looks like it could be a life long mediation on what glory God has called us to.

Shalom,
Stephnos I
