Typo. I am sure they meant the desert where monks roam giving glory to God in joy and happiness. A little fun doesn't hurt though. Though SOME folks can distinguish between dry heat and humid heat.

It's not the humidity that bothers me, but the humanity.

I also encourage my altar servers to sing.

In my Melkite parish we encourage the altar server to first maintain proper decorum and, second, to respond with the people. That means that they sing along. Interestingly, we pray the Lord's Prayer in English and Arabic. The younger boys do well in English, but can't pray it in Arabic!

You post is negative, categorical, and a fundamentalist approach of interpretation.
So what if they wrote it like that. Appealing to kids is a whole different ball than other age groups.
I have seen you pigeonhole and categorize many things lately and your negative attitude worries me. Just because I am saying these things doesn't mean I don't like you, heck if I didn't see a good person in you I wouldn't have said anything at all.
Start back about the dancing nun post and go foward. Many of your posts have become negative and very one sided interpretation. Are you doing all right? If not, let us know, we'll help you cheer up.
Not breaking you down, just caring, and I finally had the ummph to ask you what's been weighing on you..

Pyrohy,

Thank you for your worries, but I assure you, they are unfounded.

I don't think my posts have been that negative. The ones that have been negative are because I'm commenting on negative things.

Some people blow my posts out of proportion at times, which is perhaps all my fault.

In this instance, I was not attacking the integrity of or casting suspicion on St. Elias' parish. Instead I was noting what I know to be correct: the syntax of the sentence is out of order and makes it seem as if "having fun" is more important than glorifying God. That's all! I know - not a huge deal, right? But some mistake this for attacking an entire parish, instead of just one sentence, and run with it.

Other than that, I cannot say I'm going through anything troublesome or traumatic. I'm pledging a fraternity right now, and I'm in my first semester of college...maybe that's causing some stress; but I'm having a great time so I don't see how.

In any case, thank you for your concern and I'll try to monitor my apparent negativity. Maybe I'll stay away from negative threads for a while.
