Dear Manuel,
Here is a site with many akathists and, at the bottom, is an outline of how to pray them:
http://www.saintjonah.org/services/akathists.htm Here are some other akathists:
www.byzcath.org/~alex/ Akathists can be prayed at any time to ask for anything.
Monks and laity will often have a rule of Akathists for daily prayer, usually the Akathists to the Lord Jesus, the Most Holy Mother of God and to the Saint of the day of the week, together with the saint of the day and others.
On Sundays, akathists to the Holy Trinity and the Resurrection are particularly assigned.
On Monday, it is to St Michael and the Holy Bodiless Powers (together with the Guardian Angel).
On Tuesday, it is to St John the Baptist.
On Wednesdays, it is the Akathists to the Holy Cross and the Dormition of the Mother of God.
On Thursday, it is to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and to St Nicholas
On Friday, it is to the Passion of Christ and the Protection of the Mother of God.
On Saturday, it is to All Saints and for all those who have reposed.
Jordanville publishes a book of Akathists where all these may be found.
There is also a Russian language site with many, many akathists, including newer ones at: akafist.narod.ru
The East Slavic peoples love Akathists and have produced many of them.
The Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church published a book of Akathists in 1893 by Isidore Dolnitsky where there were included akathists to the Immaculate Conception, St Onuphrius and the Sacred Heart.
The Ukrainian Greek-CAtholic Studites at the Univ Lavra in L'viv published a book of Akathists recently where there are many new ones - I have it and they are beautiful compositions.
I've done a few myself too.
Alex
