Does anyone know where any vestment patterns can be obtained?

I know and have Ron Golini's book, but he seems to be of the "wrap the cloth around the client, cut, and glue" school of tailoring.

Thanks!

Dear Basil,

I'm not sure if these places will have what you're looking for, but I think it might be a good place to start. I'm sure that if they don't have the patterns, they can at least tell you where to find them.

The Holy Rood Guild
St. Joseph's Abbey
Spencer, Massachusetts 01562
TEL: 508-885-8750 or 9882
FAX: 508-885-3999

The House of Hanson
4223 W. Irving Park Road
Chicago, Illinois 60641
TEL: 800-522-1457 or 312-372-8750

Renzetti & Magnarelli
Clerical Apparel
2216 South Broad Street
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19145
TEL: 215-339-0558
FAX: 215-463-0161

If you don't have any luck with these, I also have the addresses for a number of places in Italy which I'm sure could help you find what you need, so just let me know if you'd like me to pass them on.

Good luck with your search!

In Christ,
Mike

Light and Life publishing out of MN has a vestment pattern in their catalog. They have a website at www.light-n-life.com [light-n-life.com] . I haven't seen it, so I can't tell you whether it's what you need. Call them at 952-925-3888 M-F 9-5 CDT. (At least that is what this catalog says--hours may be different.) Good luck.

I've not seen the pattern from Light & Life, but I've heard that it isn't exactly easy to use. No matter what, it's probably FAR better than nothing....

If all else fails, a pattern should not be too difficult to reverse-engineer from an existing set of vestments which fit the intended wearer - or fit them nearly enough. Pay attention to the direction of the fabric grain, and don't forget seam allowances...

Cheers on a so-far rain-free Monday!
