Well, I guess I should let everybody know that the administrator has asked me to assume the role of moderator. I accepted the position. I presume that we will continue to be one, big family. As with all familes we will not always agree, but when we disagree we can do so without rancor or ad hominems. If everything we do is done in the spirit of Christian charity there should be no problems here.
I thank you all for your cooperation.

Dear Father Deacon Edward,
Glory to Jesus Christ!
Congratulations for taking on a big responsibility. We are not where the Lord would have us. We are not all in union (communion) but we need to be striving to do the Lord's will.
May God bless you in this new responsibility.
Joe

Bless me a sinner, Father Deacon! Congratulations and "Ad Multos Annos!" I understand that, historically, one of the functions of the Deacon was to remove, forcibly if necessary, catechumens from Church before the Liturgy of the Faithful. Although you may find that you may have to reactivate this ancient role here with respect to the Forum, I'm sure you will use only such force as would be required God bless, Alex

Dear Alex,
I suspect that in the days when deacons used force they were much younger than I. I suppose I could beat them off with a cane or run them over with a wheelchair -- but then I'd have to borrow one or the other of those implements.

Kelly and Alex:
Deacons in the Eastern Church do not give blessings as that is reserved to a priest. However, I pray that God will bless all who share their journey here. May we find, especially during this season of Great Lent, companions on the journey of theosis.
As an aside, the word "companion" finds its origin in the words "with" and "bread" -- those who "break bread" become companions. And, of course, isn't that part of what the Eucharist is about? Scripture tells us that the early Church met to "break bread." Let us remember each other in prayer as we break bread.

You know I have had to be off the forum for a few days. It is like a new springtime. God is really blessing it with moderators who have a great love for him and want to serve his body.
Thanks to the old and new alike. I am enjoying all your work. God Bless you all!
