I am working on a graduate research project, examining Iconography and Eastern Christians (Catholic & Orthodox) in present-day South Carolina. Essentially, the purpose of the paper is to discuss 1) how icons take on special meanings to Eastern Christians and 2) how they convey those meanings, especially faith, values, and tradition to the "here and now" in South Carolina.
I am not just looking for "scholarly" insights, but also personal experiences and narratives, to help capture a broader range of perspectives and experiences.
