Does anyone know of a good, fairly universal guide for serving the Byzantine Liturgy that is available online?

Hmm, I don't, but what I can suggest is what the priest at my Melkite parish did. He wrote in what to do in a booklet that had the Divine Liturgy in it. This seems to work well. smile

the closest I have been able to find a guide for alter servers is a book published by St. Mary's
Orthodox Cathedral. The book is hard to understand, however if you get it. I would suggest that you conduct a session with your Pastor, and then the servers. Good Luck

God Bless you:

About 40 years ago the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese did such a booklet. The only real problem with it is or was that the booklet presumed a rather larger number of servers than one often finds available.

The ROCOR, OCA and Antiochians all have published small booklets that are available. I made use of those when my lads were younger.

The best thing online is the guide from St. Elias, Fr. Roman Galadza's parish in Ontario. The address for that is http://www.saintelias.com/DivServices_elia/Servers/Servers1_elia.html My sons use that quite often to help teach their friends how to serve.

Dear Diak,
I'm ashamed of myself for having missed that lovely guide for servers (on the Saint Elias website) that you have brought to my attention - and the attention of others. Thank you!

Thank you, Randy, for that wonderful link! I've been to the site at least 50 times now, but still missed this important link!

God bless!
