Glory to Jesus Christ!

This was a phrase that an Orthodox priest used at his sermon for Ascension Thursday, saying it is a summary of Patristic teaching. "No man means no God." I know how I am not to understand it, but I think I need to reflect more on what it means. What do you think? Do you recognize this statement from somewhere?

Arturo

Dear Arturo,

No, I don't recognize that statement.

I think "No man means no God" is like saying, "No watch means no watch maker."

Turned around this says that the fact that a watch exists is proof that there is a watch maker(this watch didn't evolve from some spark a billion years ago).

I've seen this used as a proof that God exists.
God is sometimes called the Divine watch maker.

Man (and creation) is proof that a Creator exist.

All lots to think about.

I tried my best. I flunked Philosophy. biggrin

Peace and joy,

Paul
