Yes, ISTM that since we cradle byzantines are asked not to vote, and the results cannot be viewed unless we vote, we are being excluded on a Byzantine forum wink .
Either way, I was born post VII and byzantine catholic, but grew up with many of the Latin influences like stations of the cross, first communion etc.

Curious poll. I am not quite sure of the point?

Perhaps it is more about age discrimination, than ritual identity? Or is it both?

Well I have to say I am still puzzled wink

I was born pre Vat II - but my time as an RC has all been post Vat II.

So where would I fit in your thoughts ?

Am I a Traditionalist ? - dunno - but I do like tradition and do my best to preserve it.

To my knowledge - and if the memory has not failed me , the last time I heard Mass in latin was in 1958 - when I was still at School - now if that isn't a give away about my age I don't know what is biggrin

Hang on a min. Teen - should you be voting in this one as you are not yet officially one thing or the other ?

Just a thought you know biggrin

Angelina,

There's a difference between "traditional" and "traditionalist."

Johan,

Your are right that such a poll would be unscientific. Your use of polemitcal terms guarantees that. Might we move on to another topic?

I was born way post Vatican II (1985) as a Protestant. I became a Latin Catholic in 2002, and I prefer the traditional Latin liturgy (and Eastern liturgies) over the Novus Ordo.

There is evidence to suggest that the Gay/Lesbian community supports none conventional liturgies. We can see evidence of this in organizations like Dignity. Many people suspect that Liturgical abuses (i.e. not following the Latin Churches GRIM) are encouraged by the Gay/Lesbian community. However, this is NOT to suggest that the Gay/Lesbian community is influencing those Churches that do break Liturgical laws. It is just an assumption that some people make.

Here is an example of what I mean: http://www.dignityusa.org/liturgy/index.html

Dignity gives alternative Eucharist bread recipes and encourages the theology that "we are the Eucharist." With that in mind it does not bother me when certain individuals attack me.

Johan, what does that have to do with anything you are trying to discuss (whatever it is, not sure from your posts) here? This forum is not the place to discus your fantasies concerning the Roman Rite as celebrated in the RCC today. This is a BYZANTINE FORUM, not a TradLat forum in case you haven't noticed. And how in the heck did the gay issue come up? It has nothing to do with liturgy as far as I can tell? IMHO you have an ax to grind about the current state of the RCC, sorry to have to tell you this, but this ain't the place to grind it. Moe
