Slava Isusu Christu!

I was reading Archimandrite Christoforos Stavropoulos's Book, "Partakers of the Divine Nature" and came across this wonderful quote by St. John Chrysostom in his Homily on 1st Timothy putting the words in the mouth of the Lord," I chased you and I attacked you, so that I might hold you my captive. I joined myself with you and I came into direct contact with you. I said, "Eat me and drink me". I have you with me above (in the Ascension of the Lord) and below. I am bound up with you. Is it not enough for you that I have your begininning above, with me? Is not your desire fulfilled with this? Even so I came down again, not simply to be joined with you, but to be bound up with you. I am eaten, I am chewed up into small pieces so that our communion, and our joining, and our union might be increased. But things which are united remain within their own limits. I am woven together with you. I no longer want anything to stand between us. I want to two of us to be one."

I mean this was really dynamic, and I wanted to share this with all of you.

Enjoy.

In Christ,

Have you read A Night in the Desert in the Holy Mountain by the Metropolitan of Nafpaktos Hierotheos?
It is do dynamic. Is it true that the Monks on the Holy Mountain will not let OCA priests concelebrate? Is it because they are viewed as Uniate by the Ultra-Orthodox?
Just wondering?

Thanks

Dear Joyce:

Yes, I have read "A night..." it is most wonderful and a sure guide to the Jesus prayer. I am not sure about your question about the OCA's status with the Holy Mountain; I am very positive, though, that they abhor all modernist Orthodox Jurisictions and Hierarchy.
