1. Why Do You Make The Sign Of The Cross Backwards ? 2. Where Are The Stations Of The Cross ? Being Restored ? 3-4. Will the Rosary Be Said Before Or After The Mass ? 5.(FOR OUTSIDE NORTH AMERICAN) Why Did Your Priest Put His Arm Around That Woman ? 6. Your Church Sure Could Do With Some Statues. 7. Are You Sure You're Really Catholic ?
Anyone got anymore.

I have not heard #7, but have heard something close: These people are not Catholic.
Another thing that should not be heard: why do you use all that smoke?

Maybe liberal Catholics would complain about the smoke, but Traditional Catholics would love it.

Lawrence,
Perhaps they'd like the smoke, but the bells have to go...
A few more questions are:
1. What happened to the holy water that should be inside the door.
2. Why do you kiss them thar' pictures!
3. What happened to the kneelers?
4. You use leavened bread?
5. How come I can't say "Amen" before I receive communion?
6. Why don't you guys show real reverence and kneel to receive communion?
I can think of a bunch more, but this should suffice for now...

Like the Roman Rite allows you the chance to kneel to receive communion?

How do you follow the action at the altar with that wall in the way? (Some Greek Catholics say that too. )

Here's one that I remember a "tridentine family" that attended my home parish often using when I was young:
I like hearing the "mass" in "Old Slavonic" because it reminds me of the Latin Mass.
I always wondered why they felt so and wanted to say to them, but did not, "Why, because you don't understand what is being said?"
It's the only comparison that "might" be able to fit their comments since the two languages are nothing alike and their original use/origin were of a completely different nature (unless you were in a place where Latin was or had been, the spoken language).
This is a good, "lighter" thread that we all need around here from time to time. God bless you all.
Fr. Joe

Or better yet: "Whaddaya mean i can't stick my tongue out?"
Or: "You give your children Communion?!!? You cn't do that, because they don't understand what (sic) they are receiving."

I'm glad there's some place in town with a valid Mass.
That's not the Bishop's name.
Where are the ashes? (First Wednesday of the Great Fast)

[/b]This whole thread has been all in fun, due mostly to the fact that this really IS representative of the surprise (or shock) that may come upon a Latin Catholic upon first encountering the Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom. The Byzantine way is sure to challenge some previously unchallenged notions! I think everyone likes incense, with the possible exception of those with breathing disorders. They might be surprised, but they'll love it! Kum-ba-ya! Michael, that sinner
