Thanks,
Sam

Sam, Christ is Risen! I have done a search of Forum threads (upper right hand corner of the page) and there are 35 threads regarding this subject. I offer one thread that also connects into some other threads regarding this. Confession Thread In the Risen Christ, Father Anthony+
Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

Christos Voskres! I am not sure what you are looking for but this is how we prepare for confession in our Ukrainain Byzantine Catholic Parish. My daughter has just received the Mystery of Repentence in our Church. In preparation of the Mystery of Repentence, one would examine their conscience and then be truely sorry for their sins before confessing to the Priest. You would either confess in front of the Icon of Christ or behind a screen. You would begin with the appropriate greeting (Christ Is Risen or Glory Be To Jesus Christ...)Father will then respond, (Indeed He Is Risen...) Bless yourself, "In The Name Of The Father Son And Holy Spirit", and then begin with "BLESS ME FATHER FOR I HAVE SINNED. IT HAS BEEN (HOW LONG) SINCE MY LAST CONFESSION." You would then tell the Priest all of the sins you bring to God. After this you would say, "THIS IS ALL I REMEMBER. I AM SORRY FOR ALL MY SINS. WITH GOD'S HELP I WILL SIN NO MORE. PLEASE FORGIVE ME." The priest will then give you your Penance. You will then make your act of contrition. The one that we use in our parish is "GOD, BE MERCIFUL TO ME A SINNER. GOD, CLEANSE ME OF MY SINS AND HAVE MERCY ON ME. I HAVE SINNED COUNTLESS TIMES. FORGIVE ME, O LORD." The Priest will then recite the Prayer of Absolution. "MAY OUR LORD AND GOD SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, THROUGH THE MERCY OF HIS BENEVOLENCE, FORGIVE YOU OF ALL YOUR SINS AND I, AN UNWORTHY PRIEST, BY THE POWER GIVEN TO ME BY HIM; FORGIVE YOU AND ABSOLVE YOU OF ALL YOUR SINS IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT, AMEN." The Priest will then say "GO IN PEACE AND SIN NO MORE." You will then reply, "Thank you Father" I don't know if this is of any help to you. In Christ, Tari

Obtain a copy of the small Prayer Book published by the Fellowship of Saints Alban and Sergius (in English). It includes the complete Order of Confession in two versions: that used by the Greeks and that used by the Russians.
