Wow! So many Eastern Bishops at JPII's funeral. It must a veritable who's who of the Eastern Churches. If you are up turn on MSNBC, and it is 2:15am my time, they just took their place beside the Roman Bishops.

Yes, I noticed. It is good to see Bp. John Kudrick wearing a "small" omophorion" over his mandyas and a black veil and klobuk!
Vichnaja Jemu Pamjat'-Christos Voskres, JPII!

Did you just see them and hear them chanting the funeral prayers at the end of Liturgy for the pope?

Yes, but Archbishop Foley's commentary on EWTN was off. He obviously doesn't know Greek. They were chanting Christos Anesti ( Paschal troparion) and not Eternal Memory! Oh Well, at least the Eastern Patriarchs and Bishops had some part of the funeral service.

Does anyone know if Metropolitan Basil (Schott) was among the heads of the Eastern Catholic churches clustered around the Holy Father's coffin during the final litany?

I watched the whole ceremony live on BBC - fantastic
They also had a live link with Krakow and Kirkuk - absolutely unbelievable.
The pics from Krakow were amazing - so many young there - in tears and some real old 'grannies' not in tears , but looking as if their lives had fallen apart.
The commentary was subdued - explanations were given wneh necessary - but they were not expecting the EC contribution.
I have already been asked who was the person in the wheelchair taken to Cardinal Ratzinger for Communion - Br. Roger , the founder of Taize [ according to the Beeb ]

Like Anhelyna, I watched the telecast of the Funeral Mass here in Chicago, live at 3 a.m. DST, and was in awe of the reverence, beauty, and grandeur of the celebration.
To our Eastern brothers and sisters, did both Orthodox (Eastern and Oriental) and Eastern Catholic hierarchs participate during the incantation of the Eastern litany?

it was a great sight to see. the eastern catholic patriarchs and other bishops gathered to say farewell to the Pope that has done so much to heal the wombs between east and west. it was great that they were properly involved..to show the world the diversity of the UNIVERSAL church.
