I'm really sorry if my last post was offensive, it wasn't my intention. It's true, Orthodox patriarchs have never condemned the Novus Ordo Liturgy because this is not an important thing, but at:

http://www.westernorthodox.com

you can find what some Orthodox authors think. I just tried to post the view of some people who think that the RCC has more in common with protestants than orthodox. Maybe the liturgy is not the most important thing. Some Catholics would think that the Orthodox church has something in common with the protestant churches (most of these things related to the Papacy, infalibility, indulgences...).

I'm really sorry if the last post was offensive. I'm really sorry.

Dear Remie,

No problem, Big Guy, no problem.

Yesterday was an especially difficult day for me on the Forum.

I apologise for perhaps taking it out on you.

But I feel much better today, really, well, gay, you might say smile .

Glory to Jesus Christ!

It was said: "As noted in another thread this is a Byzantine Forum not a Byzantine Catholic Forum per se. It is geared to Orthodox..."

I think it might be the fact that the site this forum is attached to is called ByzCath.org and that the Site title is Byzantine Catholic Church in America that people come here thinking that it is a Byzantine Catholic site? Maybe it should be renamed ByzOrth then?

Maybe this explains some here calling themselves as Catholics attacking the Catholic Church on things and always siding with the Orthodox?

Dear Nik,

I've known many Roman Catholics who have been critical of their Latin Church - does that excommunicate them?

And when Byzantine Catholics are critical of Vatican positions (not the Pope) concerning their right to a married priesthood, Particularity of church government etc., does that make them disloyal?

Byzantine Catholics are very conservative when it comes to Church doctrine and morals.

Can the same be said of the majority of Roman Catholics in North America?

The people who have been most critical of Rome here have been Orthodox, and they aren't Catholics, and traditional Latin Catholics who don't like the changes in their Church.

Most of those Byzantine Catholics who criticize the Latin Church are, more often than not, converts to us from the Latin Catholic Church.

The Administrator has laid down new ground rules for discourse here and they are taking hold.

But to critically respond to a Vatican policy, when it is done without rancour, is to serve the Church we love, not to try and tear it down.

In any case, with the Holy Spirit as the Church's Protector, that is an impossibility in any case.

Alex
