[About the sacraments, correct me if I'm wrong but before 1989 the orthodox and catholic churches in the Soviet Union were allowed to give the sacraments to both faithful, but after the Soviet collapse there was no reason for mantaining that practice.]

You are correct in this. In areas of the Soviet Union where there were Roman Catholics and only an Orthodox Catholic Curch was available 'Economia' was practiced by the ROC and the Sacraments were offered to Roman Catholics.

I am not sure if I am going Orthodox or not. I think I am not going to go to church for awhile and just pray and hopefully God will led me.

Attacks on me for what? That I'm remaining in the Church in which I was born and which nurtured me in my times of need, despite the fact that at times it ticks me off and wondering if I'm better off somewhere else? But I realize that skipping off down the road to the flavor of the week church isn't gonna do it for me, cause it's not my home?

Now now, let's not let this get ugly. I'm sure he has valid reasons as I feel I do, but admittedly, there are many people who make the change for unimportant and unreasonable reasons (redundant, I know). In the end, Catholic or Orthodox, we're all brethren, and we must not figth over apostolicity, we must thank God for it.

Your constant cry, "I do not think my age should be immeadiatly frowned upon as a factor.", IMHO shows that it really is a factor.
You do not wish to wait, you wish to be an adult right now... Believe me, there will be time enough for this in the future. I grew up in a home as you describe. My home was not spiritual at all. You made your choice to return to the Church much sooner than I did.

That being said, why do you ignore what the Lord has said, "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you"?

You have received some good advice from some good and holy people, the Admin, Fr Elias, and ALity (who happens to make a good point on the hypocrisy of some orthodox members regarding proslytism).

I would find it very bad if any priest would accept you when you are a minor, as a minor is unable to be a participant in a contract without consent from his parents.

Yes, as you say, you may have reached the "age of reason" but you have not reached the age of majority.

If I might ask Justin, what has your spiritual father said about all this? I do not think this is wise to do with out a spiritual father to assit you.

Have you thought of contacting any of the Ukranian Catholic members on this forum who live in Canada? Maybe they can assit you in this search.

As for the comments by OrthodoxyOrDeath, "Only in the Orthodox Church do you find Christ as the central focus.", I think he needs to be admonished for his attempted Flame Bait.

DavidB. peace be with you my good friend! I trust all is well with you, things are fine over here. Look, I'm not trying to be something I'm not, I'm just trying to express that I can't use my age as a reason to ignore my salvation anymore. I did that when I was younger and it led only to things worse and worse. My parents ask more and more questions and learn how Orthodoxy is much more like Catholicism (they must have thought it was a cult at first), and I continue to honour their decision to not let me go "gung-ho" as they say, with my decision to convert. The more I think, yes, my age is a factor, but I know what I have always believed and what I have believed when I embraced Roman Catholicism, and it is the same as that which Orthodoxy teaches, so in truth I do not see this as a conversion, merely a coming home.
