On one of Father Loya's programs "Light of the East" he mentioned we began in September the Byzantine Year 7514. Could someone please explain the dating. Thank You!

The Byzantine year begins on 1 September (which is 14 September on the current civil calendar). The year number reflects the dating "from the creation of the world".
