Pani Rose Hehe, glad they worked! I am still uploading a few more photos, just wanted to see if it worked at all.

Are there any pictures from the dedication? Unfortunately, no, I didn't get any. I kinda felt out of place doing it. So I'm sorry . But, I will say, it went well! It was very nice.

The service went very well. Bishops, priests, and deacons of many parishes and dioceses all collaborated together effectively. Cantors, including some priests, also did a fine job of leading the congregation. There was even a visiting Antiochean Orthodox priest, though he did not participate, of course. There were 5 from my parish who attended, but there were also Ruthenians from St. Stephen's, Ukrainians, Maronites, Latins, and numerous other Melkites. The pictures show just how elegant and beautiful the church is becoming. My wife and I attended a weekday liturgy last spring, in the old house/parish hall, and toured the construction site. What a difference 6 months or so has made! It is long overdue. They started as a mission some 23 years ago. All things come to him who waits, they say.

Were you chanting with the choir this afternoon?

I did sing, but not at the cantor's stand. Much of the music was in the parish liturgy book, though not all. I was beside our parish's diaconal seminarian, down front on the far right in the third row. We both wore grey cassocks, the color used for married seminarians and minor orders in the Eparchy of Van Nuys.

Who was the guy with you in the black? In Christ, Andrew

The man in black whom we were with was Fr. Philip Acquaro, our rector and priest at St. Thomas Byzantine Catholic Church in Gilbert, AZ.

The new church is absolutely beautiful. I am very happy for this community.
I am mildly curious why the altar is set up in the Russian manner (7-branched lamp and the fans at an angle). I thought Melkites follow the Greek tradition.
I hope to be able to visit family in Arizona soon, and I will be sure to visit this wonderful parish.

Hmm, not sure about that one. I've seen Greek parishes do this too, with the fans out to the side, and the candle-holder.
