All I know about the Cardinal Archbishop of LA is what forum members have told me and pics of a not very orthodox Mass at which he presided. These obervations and open discussions are not conclusions or judgements about Roger Michael Cardinal Mahony.

End of my discussion about Cardinal Mahony.

Please bear with my mispellings, however for mispelling a person's name i apologize.

I agree about keeping the Patriarch's LA visit in the spotlight. I am looking for secular press coverage and the LA archdiocese's newspaper coverage of the event.

Dear Alex:

That was intentional, thank you!

I can't bear to lay the shame (or blame) on our cowboys or, more appropriately, desperados! wink

Andrew,

The guy with the Aloha shirt and the fanny pack always wears that. It's just who he is.

I venture a guess: Cardinal Husar did not vote for Cardinal Mahony, and vice versa? biggrin

Dear Friends,

I'm just wondering, where does the style of Cross Patriarch Husar is holding come from?

I've seen it before - does anyone know why that is used rather than the three-bar Cross with slanted foot-rest?

I know that cross is popular here with local parishes in Philly.

The Patriarch said it came from Kolomyia, and he left it as a gift for the parish.

There is a monastery I visited in Kolomiya that had everything carved, Iconostas, Icons, everything. It's done in the same style so I wouldn't be at all suprised if it came from there.
