Not sure whether to post this here on in Faith and Worship. We had Forgiveness Vespers this Sunday evening in Topeka and it was wonderful! We had quite a few people attending, including two Roman Catholic Sisters! Vespers were lead by Subdeacon Randy, with everyone singing loudly and tunefully! It was gorgeous. It was also the first time we used our new portable iconostasis, made by Randy's wife. She did a beautiful job and I hope Randy will post some pics here sometime. I think everyone would like to see it. Before Vespers we had a nice dinner of dairy and fish dishes and that was wonderful too. I am also told that we will be having Vespers every Friday evening during Lent. Now to just get a study group going! Don

Thanks Mary Jo! It was so nice being able to get to Vespers. I haven't been to Liturgy for several months. Just too tired for that hour and a half drive to either Kansas City or St. Joseph, MO. The cat is doing ok, on steroids which seem to slow down the growth of the tumors and keeping her feeling good. I'm supposed to find out this week if I am a candidate for the new medication for the anemia. Hope I can afford the co-pay too! Don

Bless, Father Don!

And forgive me a sinner too!

(You may have to hold that thought a little while longer as I'm on the True, I mean, the JU - lian Calendar! smile ).

Fr.Don...

You know one of the side-effects of too many steroids is the desire for political office.

If Anna starts making posters for a run for the Governor's Mansion, I'd start to worry... wink

Pysanky? Thanks for the reminder!

Every year, around holy week, I realize that it's time for Easter eggs again, and gosh darn it, I didn't get around to learning how to do Pysanky and buying the supplies!

Now, to find those patterns and instructions I brought home last year... (Last year I actually did manage to make a couple of simple ones, using regular Easter Egg dye and melted wax applied with a toothpick. Not as pretty as the ones done the traditional way though.) biggrin
