I am deeply saddened. I'm curious that it was only after she had noticed the remaining parts that she wanted a proper burial. Should she not have requested a proper burial prior to the abortion ? Could you even have such a thing, knowing that the other remains of the child had probably been taken away in a bucket for medical research or just discarded.

This is horrendeous, beyond words. Who could legitimately say that this atrocity doesn't hurt women also? This lady will be probably haunted and disturbed for life.

Sickening ! And they call this a woman's "right to choose" !
Suggested bumper sticker slogan: "Aren't you glad you were your mother's CHILD and NOT her CHOICE ?"

For anyone interested in a fresh look at the issue of abortion, I suggest an excellent website www.lifeprinciples.net [ lifeprinciples.net]

Dear all, Here in Portugal the abortion debate has come around again. The Dutch ship Women on Waves, which carries women out into international waters where Dutch law applies, to perform abortions (via RU-486) is trying to get into Portugal. For those of you who do not know how they work, they will show up in a country where Abortion is illegal or restricted and carry women out to sea where they have the aboritons. The actual abortions are only a small part of the mission however, since the main aim is to raise debate and make propaganda for their cause. In both Ireland and Poland they managed, with mixed success, to dock and do their deeds. In Portugal we heard they were coming but a decision from the Ministry of Defense and Sea Issues (sounds sort of sill when translated, like Monty Python's ministry of Silly Walks) blocked their entrance into Portuguese waters. The left wing parties and feminist pro-abortion groups are outraged, as would be expected. Pro-life groups and ideals in Portugal are very much on the defensive, we are suffering a barrage from outdated groups that have no more causes left to fight for. We desperately need all the help we can get. Prayer is the best. At this time in particular please pray for Portugal, that in this respect also we may never abandon the faith, as Our Lady predicted in Fatima. God bless you all! Filipe

Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware of these ships. I know abortion was illegal in Ireland, is it still? Where else? Will definitely pray for the cause.

Thank you Rose. I've emailed this link to all of my friends. This country needs prayer! Marya

Priets for Life is asking everyone one to join in a novena for the elections in the US. The assistant pastor at the RC church where I play asked for the same during his sermons last Sunday. I like the concept, but it's too bad they didn't list any Eastern forms of prayer along with the traditional Western ones. I am doing the 9 weeks of prayer, but am substituting my own preferred Byzantine prayers in place of theirs.

Being the unabashed and in-your-face Byzantine Catholic that I am, I just sent Priests for Life an e-mail. I noticed in the forms of prayer you mentioned, you didn't include prayers that millions of us Eastern Catholics and the Orthodox pray. Typically, we don't do rosaries and divine mercy chaplets. But some of us are substituting traditional Eastern Christian prayers for yours, and praying right along with you for the same intentions. They need to know we are here, and that God listens to us, as well.
