Hi, I don't know whether this is the correct forum to ask this but a friend of my wife and I talked about a St. Michael's Church in St. Michael, Minnesota. I cannot find it on any directory but since the photograph catalogue lists Moscow, I would think that it is Russian Orthodox. The web site is: http://homepage.mac.com/zheka. Look at album "Minnesota".

Thanks if any one can help out.

St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Michael, Minnesota is part of the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis and truly a work of art!

My good friend, Brother Anthony of the Franciscan Brothers of Peace in St. Paul, was part of a team of iconographers that helped to paint the dome of this Byzantine style temple. The iconographers were under the direction of Vladislav Andrejev. To see pictures of the work, you can contact the Franciscan Brothers of Peace at the address below. They have a monthly newsletter that they will send you (donations are certainly welcome!).

Franciscan Brothers of Peace
1289 Lafond Avenue
Saint Paul. MN 55104-2035

The brothers host our parish's monthly Byzantine Divine Liturgy in St. Paul. They are definitely a group that desires to reconcile all things in Christ, including East and West! Several of their ministries include working with international victims of torture, prolife work and the helping the poor on the street and through their foodshelf.

Most recently Brother Paul and Brother Hilary were seen on CNN and Fox News providing support to the Schindler Family. Brother Paul was the spokesperson for the family. Their founder, Brother Michael (Eternal memory!) was also severely disabled in a manner similar to Terri and thank goodness they were there to care for him for over 10 years 24/7. He died in 2003 on August 28th.

Brother Anthony makes a direct connection between his ministry as an iconographer, and his community's work to help the broken, wounded and rejected images of God that need our compassion and care.

He helped to format an Iconographer's Rule of Prayer written by Vladislav that is marvellous.

If anyone is considering a religious vocation to brotherhood, this is a small community worth considering (8 brothers, 2 novices).

George,

It certainly is understandable why you were confused; the album is part of the website of Yevgeniy Vaskevich, presumably one of the Russian iconographers who worked on the project that Gordo has explained.

The photos are beautiful, but the link as you posted it has an extra character that prevents it opening. The corrected link is: http://homepage.mac.com/zheka [homepage.mac.com] . Select the album "Minnesota".

Many years,

Neil
