Thank you very much Janka!

I've been lurking for about a week, reading and learning lots, it does seem to be a very welcoming forum.

A little bit about me.

I'm an RC (with an Irish bent) living in the Detroit area.

What attracted me most about this forum is that I am finding out about the Saints of the East, Holy men and women I knew nothing about.

I do love the Irish--my husband is part Irish (his mom's side) and we went to Ireland on our honeymoon. smile

I have learned so much since joining the Forum. I'm hoping to become Byzantine Catholic (my husband isn't thrilled with the idea yet).

Everyone here is very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm sure you'll love it here.

God Bless!

Janka

I can see how that would be problematic in an Irish household. You'll have one heck of a time trying to find Icons of Irish Saints smile

No problems finding one of St.Paddy, and a little looking found one for St. Bridgit.

But a St. Fiacrae, St. Ita or St. Ciaran could not be found.

Not even a St. Brendan eek

Dear Friends,

Isn't great to have so many Celtic Christians with us? smile

As a reminder, here is an English translation of the Celtic Breviary and Psalter division of St Maelruain:

Perhaps you will have your old Particular Church back one day too?

May the Lord hold you all in the hollow of His Hand!

Welcome, brother Brendan. I too live in the Detroit area. What RC parish do you attend? I belong to St. Vartan Armenian Catholic parish. Good to have you here.

In Christ's Light,

Welcome back, Matthew. Good to see your new icon. May the sight of it be frequent.

Brendan, Welcome to the Forum from another Latin Catholic. I hope that you will find your experience here to be an enriching one.

Where is Mark when y'all need him? :p
Iconographer needed to get these Saints the proper recognition.
Might help Fr. Serge Kelleher in Dublin.
