Somewhere around Cleveland OH, there was an order of nuns which only just had several elderly nuns left. Mother Angelica has sent some of her sisters up to take care of them and then I understand she will take over the convent. But, her order is busting at the seams. I think it is because they are so traditional, and adhere to the teachings of the Church. One of the things the sisters were most excited about was returning to the full habit.

Dear Pani Rose,
It is amazing that the sisters of Mother Angelica's order are so thrilled about returning to the traditional habit, when the old one was relatively speaking, not too bad! But now, they look like the nuns of old, and like the nuns in one of my daughter's most beloved childhood books...'Madeline'.
Have you been there? Have you ever met Mother Angelica? Have you been to that new beautiful church? Please share if you have.
Something great and miraculous is going to happen in Irondale one of these days, I think, for it was the baby Jesus Himself that spoke to Mother and told her to build that beautiful church. Mother Angelica has done great, great things for the Catholic Church with her network. May God continue to bless her and grant her full health.
In Christ, Alice

Dear Alice,
I hate to admit that I have not been able to go to Hanceville, but only because of my health. It is avery loing walk to get into the monastery and I am not able to make a walk like that right now. I can share what I know if you like. However, we live less than two miles from EWTN, and have spent many hours there.
Mother Angelica is as you see her. Very real, loving and caring of everyone. That shows up in the love and compassion of her her sisters toward others also.
Before the sisters went out there, they let the locals take a tour of the complete facility. Everyone says it is awesome. All the huge fireplaces, very antique like in the way it is built, but very 21 century in the way it functions. Just like a European Monastery.
Mother told a story of having a party for the child Jesus. Well as it ended up, wherever they bought the ballons from actually ended up giving them to them. They were hellium filled, so many were on the floor. He was so happy about having a party. She said she asked Him what color ballons He wanted, He told her pink.
The inside of the monastery has a lot to gold, very rich. It is interesting that so many bus loads of protestants go there, and they keep coming back. Once is not enough. They comment that there is peace there that they can't understand.
It seems like it is becoming a very Catholic area. Not necessarily intentinal, but more and more Catholics are moving that way.
I am getting stronger so maybe soon I can make the trip and tell you. It is only 40 minutes from us.

The day after Christmas I went to New York to see the El Greco exhibit at the Met. Among those in the crowd were Fr. Groechel's Friars in their habits. What a way to evangelize!
