Glory to Jesus Christ!

I am interested in praying the Eastern psalter or hours, I guess formally it is called Horologion in the East?

Anyway, I am curious if anyone can direct me to resources for this. Can I just buy an Eastern Orthodox book or is there a Catholic equivalent for Ruthenian Catholics?
Thank you in advance!

Respectfully,
Francis

Glory be to Jesus Christ!!

Francis,

I have a book entitled "A Psalter for Prayer" that was published by the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. It is a large edition useful for both church and private use. It contains prayers that are not available in other English language editions.

Any Orthodox one you find will likely be better since there is less chance of latinization.

Are you aware of any digital formats or apps that may be available? I travel a lot so it becomes quite helpful to not travel with an entire library.

Hi Francis,

Eastern Christian Publications's Byzantine Daily Office (https://ecpubs.com/byzantine-daily-office-bdo/) may be of use to you. It is available both as an app and daily email newsletter that contains the following:

- Morning Prayer
- First Hour
- Third Hour
- Sixth Hour
- Ninth Hour
- Vespers
- Evening Prayer

I would recommend the app, as I find it more convenient. It goes by the name ECPubs on Google Play or ecpubs on the App Store.

It is free; they ask those who can afford it to support them (info on the linked webpage).
