Dec. 10, 2007 (CWNews.com) - An Arabic-language Christian satellite television station, directed primarily for children, is in the planning stages, the KAI news agency reports.

SAT-7, which has been in existence since 1996, would administer the new TV station from its headquarters in Cyprus. (SAT-7 also has production centers in Egypt and Lebanon.) The network would cover the Middle East and North Africa, where at least 6 existing Arabic-language stations are openly anti-Christian.

SAT-7’s director of programming, Rita El Mounayer, noted that 100 million children live in the broadcast region. SAT-7 hopes to bring those children programs that will explore the true meaning of Christmas and the life of Jesus.
