Zhytomyr – The Monastery of Sisters of St. Basil the Great of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) in central Ukraine’s Zhytomyr was blessed on 2 December 2007. RISU's Ukrainian-language webpage posted the story.
In a very short period of time the Basilians Sisters (there are four of them now) from Zhytomyr have managed to launch cooperation with the Young Scouts Association, the Faith and Light International Movement working with the disabled and providing them spiritual support, and Caritas Ukraine, which helps those in need regardless of their denomination. The Sisters are planning to care for the sick, for children from families in need, and engage in prevention activities regarding youth alcoholism and drug addiction.
