CWN - Amid rising violence in Iraq, the head of the Chaldean Catholic Church appealed for calm.
“From a national, religious and moral prospective, we appeal to all parties in the nation, in these precise circumstances, to work for calm and invoking the language of dialogue, understanding, moderation and putting the interest of the nation and the citizens firstly,” Patriarch Louis Raphaël I Sako said in a message posted on the patriarchate’s website.
“At this juncture, almost burning conflicts, we must help each other, to stick to the homeland, the logic of the State and the law, the life and the fraternal relations, the abandon extremism, violence and sectarian freight lest delivers home to those who seek to sow discord,” he added.
