CWN - Christians are leaving the Middle East “in an exodus approaching biblical proportions,” a former Lebanese president said in a recent talk.

Amine Gemayel, a Maronite Catholic, referred to “church burnings, physical assaults, and killings” in Egypt, “a bloody-minded reign of terror” by “ultra-radical Islamists” in Syria, and “an onslaught of murder” in Iraq, The Arab Daily News reported.

Gemayel called for a Syrian “power-sharing agreement that preserves core state institutions while also dismantling the pervasive machinery of repression.”
