CWN - The government of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who assumed office in June, has entered into negotiations with Christian leaders to draft regulations to facilitate church construction, the Coptic Catholic bishop of Minya told the Fides news agency.

During and after the regime of President Hosni Mubarak, who ruled Egypt from 1981 to 2011, Coptic Christians encountered difficulties in obtaining legal permission to build or repair churches.
