CWN - The Latin-rite Catholic Patriarch of Jerusalem has condemned a bloody attack on a synagogue in that city and extended his sympathies to the victims and their families.
“In our churches, convents and monasteries, we will pray more than ever that the Lord helps us and helps political leaders to take the right steps so that there is peace and security for all, all, all,” promised Patriarch Fouad Twal.
The Catholic prelate said that a strengthening of security measures in Jerusalem “is a sign that the situation is anything but normal.” He called for a halt in “the endless spiral of revenge.”
The Hamas movement claimed responsibility for the November 18 attack, in which four Jewish worshippers were killed and eight others wounded. The Palestinian Authority issued a statement decrying the bloodshed.
