CWN - The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has taken over the Syrian town of Tel Hormizd and has forced the Christian residents to remove the cross from their church, according to the Assyrian International News Agency.
The Islamic State also imposed a tax on Christians, warning that if they did not pay or leave they would be killed.
In the town of Tel Tawil, located three dozen miles away, Christian fighters regained control of the church and remounted a cross that had been removed.
