Inviting European leaders to Be Messengers of Peace between Russia and Ukraine

Sunday, March 6th. 2022

With much love, trust, tears and faith, as retired Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, I address His Holiness Pope Francis, the heads of European episcopal councils, the presidents of the countries of the European Union, owners of large corporations and all people of good will,

asking them to launch a joint initiative for peace or a peace conference, as close as possible to the seat of conflict, staying there to pray, while appealing to Russian and Ukrainian presidents and those with civil authority for peace.

I strongly believe that such an initiative could be the most efficient solution to stop war and its repercussions: devastation, destruction, death, migration, economic crises at a European and Middle Eastern and global level.

I ask you and humbly beseech you, praying that you listen to this appeal and am ready to follow it with action alongside you at the frontlines as a messenger of peace!
May our Saviour protect us and his mother, Ever-Virgin Mary, bless us with peace in the name of her Son, the Peace-Bringer.

Almighty God, give us peace, for you have given us everything.

Teachings of Christ

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 ESV)

You ascended in glory, O Christ our God, * granting joy to Your disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit; * through this blessing they were assured * that You are the Son of God * the Redeemer of the world! (Troparion)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

When You fulfilled the divine plan for us * and united things on earth with things in heaven, * You ascended in glory, O Christ our God, * in no way departing from us but remaining inseparable, * and crying out to those who love You: “I am with you, and no one is against you.” (Kontakion)

Random Proverb

"Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching." (Proverbs 4:1,2 ESV)

Pray Without Ceasing

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Wisdom from the Church Fathers

We believe that the divine presence is everywhere and that "the eyes of the Lord are looking on the good and the evil in every place." But we should believe this especially without any doubt when we are assisting at the Work of God. To that end let us be mindful always of the Prophet's words, "Serve the Lord in fear" and again, "Sing praises wisely" and "In the sight of the Angels I will sing praise to Thee." Let us therefore consider how we ought to conduct ourselves in the sight of the Godhead and of His Angels, and let us take part in the psalmody in such a way that our mind may be in harmony with our voice.
