Kyiv – On 18 July 2007 the Intereparchial Commission of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on Matters of Health Ministry publicized a statement on a train accident in the Lviv Region on 16 July in which large amounts of phosphorus spilled. The commission calls “for prayer and the celebration of religious services for the intention that the Lord help overcome the consequences of the catastrophe… and for the residents of the affected areas, their families, children, for those hospitalized and suffering because of the emergency… and those working to liquidate the accident and medical personnel who are helping the suffering.”
