VATICAN CITY, JULY 23, 2007 (Zenit.org).- A conference titled "At the Side of the Dying Person" will bring experts to the Vatican to consider orientations for accompanying people in their last moments of life.

The Pontifical Academy for Life is organizing the two-day conference, which will be held in February.

Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragán, president of the Pontifical Council for Health Care Ministry, will inaugurate the conference with a talk on "Life, a Gift of Love."

The meeting will end with a discourse by Bishop Elio Sgreccia, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, on "Information for the Incurably Ill."
