CWN - The head of the Coptic Catholic Church offered his congratulations to the head of the Egyptian armed forces following his promotion to field marshal.
Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who orchestrated the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi in July, is expected to run for president. Coptic Christians have generally welcomed the ouster of Morsi, a Muslim Brotherhood leader.
Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak “invoked God’s blessing on the ‘great responsibility’ that waits the possible future president of Egypt,” according to a Fides news agency report.
