CWN - A Ukrainian Catholic bishop in England has charged that the Russian Orthodox Church is spreading misinformation about the role of the Eastern Catholic Church in Ukraine.
Bishop Hlib Lonchyna, who heads the Ukrainian Catholic eparchy in Britain, strongly supported the stand taken by Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk, decrying the partisan statements issued from the Moscow patriarchate. He encouraged the public to "be wary of many forms of misinformation" about the conflict in Ukraine, saying that skewed perspectives were being put forward by both the Russian government and the Orthodox Church.
