CWN - Pope Francis has been selected to receive an award from Israel’s Bar Ilan University, drawing a protest from the Palestinian foreign ministry.
The Pope will be honored for his ''engagement in building bridges between different worlds, promoting peace and harmony among nations and faiths.” The university’s citation calls attention to the Pope’s trip to Israel earlier this year and his efforts to promote understanding between Christians and Jews.
